Today, we celebrate the birth of the United States!!
235 years ago, something absolutely remarkable came from many men, most notably, Thomas Paine, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Patrick Henry. They were instrumental in being the strong voice of, and for, the colonists who had had enough of British rule and were ready to fight and “die free men rather than live as slaves.”
The Declaration of Independence, the formal resolution calling for America to declare its independence from Britain, was signed on July 4th, 1776.
This took tremendous courage and the risks involved were very real and no doubt emboldened by these words:
“We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
Excerpted from the very last line: “…we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
I do not see how it could be more clear! These men, and many others, knew what had to happen…they made it happen and as a result, some suffered severe consequences so that many of us can live with unparalleled freedom in the greatest country on this planet!
Even 235 years ago, there was a recognition of Truth. They identified it, seized it, planted their flag in it and took it all the way to the end.
Can you imagine the flow of life they were in, their experience of full self expression, as soon as they took their stand and wrestled the control from another as opposed to (also directly from this historic document) feeling “…the patient sufferance…” !?
- Instead of living life on their knees, they were standing tall.
- Instead of sitting around and complaining, they did something about it…and as a result, a government by the people, and for the people, was established.
Truly remarkable!!
What an example of:
- Clarity, Honor, Strength, Determination and Vision
- Men taking a stand for what they believe in!
- Higher Purpose (it doesn’t get much higher)
- Honoring the Truth
How do you answer the next three questions:
- Who are you?
- Where are you going?
- What will you fight for?
The answers to these questions can be clearly and boldly stated on your own personal flag and —->
If you do not know the answers, you most probably are hobbled by your incessant mental chatter of doubt and fear leaving you ungrounded, disconnected and unknowingly suffering the quiet indignity of living under someone else’s flag…
Maybe even (wincing here) you’re living under your woman’s flag. As her “good little boy,” you’re probably even carrying her flag… for her!
**What if ALL men today took the same spirit that was so admirably demonstrated for us and took a stand for what was the Truth for them?! **
**What if each man carried his own personal flag of all the qualities that are the best of him and unapologetically and unabashedly planted it wherever he stood? Imagine the terrific effect that would have on his community and within his family. Imagine the example he would be to children so that they will grow strong and independent?**
•Those of you who won’t or can’t….. when will you stop your “patient suffering”?!
You may wonder what this has to do with Tantra? Tantra, for me, is a way of life….it’s a path of meditation that brings you home to yourself. When you are open to the wisdom of your body and allow yourself to feel and act from the Truth that exists in it, there appears an opening for you to jump into the flow of life. When in this flow, life is easier and there is a certain grace that is experienced in ALL of life’s meetings.
In this flow of ease and grace, the honoring and living from your Truth becomes a way of life.
- Your career becomes a choice that enlivens you
- Your relationship with Woman is beyond anything you ever imagined
- Your relationship with your children broadens and deepens
- Your health and vitality effortlessly buoy you every day as you do everything that serves your Higher Purpose.
